Anyone with the international version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 will have heard of details about the KitKat 4.4 update for the device, along with the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and the Galaxy Grand 2 Duos. They heard news about the update thanks to a leaked document online.
SamMobile said that this came from someone who worked at Samsung who had revealed the update schedule for handsets belonging to Samsung and the fact that they would receive KitKat 4.4.
There was a screenshot posted of that document, which told owners that they should get updated between April and May this year. If this is correct then they will get the update not long after we see the release of the Samsung Galaxy S5 on the shelves.
We don’t know whether the leaked document was a fake or if it was the real deal. Of course there is always the chance that it could be a hoax. Someone could well be trying to capitalize on the update to KitKat for their own gain.
One thing we did see was that the number for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was wrong. On the document that leaked it said it was SM-N7100 and it should be the GT-N7100. Of course there is a chance that this is a honest mistake, but then it could be that it is a fake.
