The Resident Evil series has been on a constant decline ever since Capcom changed the way the game is played on Resident Evil 4. The fear factor which the fans have thoroughly enjoyed are now absent from the series.
The latest Resident Evil 6 is the last straw and the fans are demanding for Capcom to restore the game’s thrilling factor. The first trilogy had been superb as it offers a terrifying experience. At some point in the game, the horror can equal to that from Silent Hill.
Following the first trilogy, Capcom has made Resident Evil a more action-oriented game. Players felt like it was a cheap attempt to imitate the likes of Call of Duty and Battlefied. As a result, the reputation of the franchise suffered.
Players are demanding for the future Resident Evil 7 to be scary. Capcom should reconsider the direction Resident Evil is taking and bring back the horror, mystery and puzzle-solving the game was famous for. The game developer better decide fast as failing to do so will see The Evil Within taking over the fans.
