Resident Evil 7 is currently being developed by Capcom and it has the potential to appeal to every Resident Evil purist out there. This is because Resident Evil 7 might see the series returning to Racoon City and come out with tons of horror to offer.
This was suggested by a leak screenshot of the game which saw Racoon City being the location. Racoon City was the location of the first Resident Evil trilogy and back then, everything revolves around horror. Hence, it also hints on Resident Evil 7 returning to the horror genre.
The Resident Evil purists will certainly be pleased to hear this as they have been disappointed with how Resident Evil 4-6 came out to be. However, the leaked screenshot is still not concrete so it is best to take the above with a pinch of salt.
