Resident Evil was one of our best franchises, but it’s turned into a bit of a joke. Gamers loved the horror, but by Resident Evil 4 this aspect had started to recede. The game has a big fanbase, but Capcom risks losing it.
Gamers are moaning that the terror is gone and that it’s now more like a common-or-garden shoot ‘em up. New players liked it, as they didn’t know any better, but the older fans have become increasingly annoyed.
By Resident Evil 6, there were genuine complaints and demands for the game to get scary again. We don’t know if Capcom has listened and implemented these changes for Resident Evil 7.
The franchise isn’t looking healthy, and Reddit fans are hoping it gets back to form in episode 7. One Redditor, LightSamus, made a Resident Evil 7 logo that lends a touch of horror.
The logo is blood-red and dark, and gives a creepy, negative feel that whets the appetite for fear.
We hope that Capcom see the logo and take it into consideration as fans do want that horror feel back in the game. However only they can decide on the fate of Resident Evil, so for now fans will have to sit back and wait. Check out the logo here.
