We have to strongly agree with Top Gear’s reaction to the existing Porsche Panamera. The car is simply too ugly for our liking. Soon, this will be sorted out as Porsche is currently developing a better styled Panamera that will also come with better economy.
Now, we can get some clues on how the Panamera MK2 is going to look like after hearing out what Matthius Muller has to say about the vehicle. The CEO for Porsche admitted that the current Panamera was a big mistake in design and it could have been better.
Muller statement was further supported by the company’s design chief, Michael Mauer. The latter claimed that the upcoming model will look totally different yet will still be a recognized as the next-gen Panamera.
Of course, some of the styling elements are still recognizable as the Panamera comes equipped with headlights from the 918 Spyder and full-width taillights from the Sport Turismo concept. As a matter of fact, the Panamera is heavily inspired by the latter.
The car is built on VW’s new MSB platform that is identical to the ones used on the Audi A8 and Bentley Continental. This will make sure that the Panamera is lighter and more efficient than ever.
Under the hood, the Panamera will be offered with a variety of engine options. Regardless of what customers choose, the motor will be turbocharged that will ensure a more thrilling and powerful performance.
