Pokemon X & Y News: Pokebank 2/29 Release Date & Tweet Update

When it comes to games, the Pokemon community is probably the most emotional folks at the moment. They have gone sky high in excitement to down low in sadness, in quick succession. This has been caused by the much anticipated Pokebank.

The PokeBank has been developed and will enable the players to bring a Pokemon from previous versions to the latest Pokemon X & Y. On top of that, it allow players to store their Pokemon on cloud storage.

Right towards the end of December 2013, the PokeBank was being launched. To the horror of both game developer Nintendo and the fans, the launching caused the eShop to crash. The entire Pokemon community went amok.

As of this moment the eShop servers are fixed and Nintendo has been testing out the PokeBank to ensure no crashes during the re-launch. However, no official date has been revealed as of yet.

This got worse when a Twitter belonging to Pokemon posted a picture saying that the PokeBank will be released this February 29. In 2014, February is only 28 days which means it will come in 2016. Of course, the post got written off as nothing more than a bad joke at a bad time.

Over to Nintendo, the game developer’s Support team have been quoted by Reddit as basically saying that today they will “announce the announcement of bank’s release date soon”. We haven’t heard anything yet though and all we know is that the PokeBank is being put to a series of test.

Aside from all that, the possibility for PokeBank to arrive before the end of this month seems likely. Nintendo rarely makes a mistake and if they do, it will be fixed before you know it.
