Today it appears that the eShop is about to receive an update, sparking the possibility of Pokebank getting launched soon.
The Pokebank is a service, created by Nintendo, which enable players to transfer Pokemon from previous gen to the latest Pokemon X & Y. On top of that, players will get first hand opportunity to store their Pokemon on cloud storage instead of the region’s local PC.
The much-anticipated service was previously scheduled for a release back in late December 2013. However, an overwhelming traffic caused the eShop servers to crash which led Nintendo to delay its release. The fans are not at all happy with the state of things as they continue to wait for the Pokebank’s release.
As the eShop is getting an update, there is a huge chance that it is meant to prepare for the Pokebank’s re-release. It is obvious that Nintendo wouldn’t want to repeat that same error back in December. After all, the game developer once Tweeted that the Pokebank will go through a series of test before it gets rolled out. Perhaps this is a fruit from one of those tests.
The eShop update is believed to make the service more secure. Following a long spell of silence from Nintendo following the crash, the idea for Pokebank to get a surprise re-release is highly likely. If that is opted by Nintendo, it will surely catch the fans of guard and the servers will have better traffic flow.
Aside from all that, the Pokemon community are not hoping for the Pokebank to arrive this month. They believe it will be longer than anticipated. As for the eShop update, it could be just another update to remove bugs or glitches.
Update: We have received word that the eShop update has completed in the UK but no signs of Pokebank or an announcement
