The Pokemon Go game was made so that people can go out and hunt down those Pokemon but some players prefer to sit in the comfort of their room and cheat. Some players were not too happy with these cheaters and it looks like Niantics is finally going to do something about it.
Some Pokemon Go players went on Reddit to report that they have received an email from Niantics informing them that their accounts have been close. Based on the email, it looks like Niantics is going to ban those that uses apps, or scripts to fake their location.
While some cheaters are worried that Niantics might get to them, others seem to think that the email is fake.
Of course, if you do get caught, you will still be able to play the game although you will have to start from scratch once more.
