The gaming industry is seeing a major shift from modern video games to digital games. Even today, it is difficult to find a new gaming title that does not require an active internet connection. One of the titles that made the jump is with Nintendo’s Pokemon X & Y.
The latest Pokemon game is more socially engaging as players have to be active with the community in order to complete their Pokedex. Another way to do so is with the PokeBank. The much-anticipated service from Nintendo will allow players to bring over past-gen Pokemon to X & Y. Also, players can save their Pokemon on cloud storage with the service.
The PokeBank was scheduled to launch at the end of December last year. However, an overwhelming traffic caused the eShop servers to crash resulting in a delay to PokeBank’s launch. Despite that fact, a handful of Japanese players managed to get their hands on the service.
Many YouTube videos got uploaded demonstrating the service in effect. While it all looks great, there is the downside of it. The PokeBank is not as secured as it was thought to be. Many screenshots and videos revealed a series of hacked Pokemon making its way to X & Y. This is supposed to be filtered out by the service.
It is wise if Nintendo were to delay the launch and look into this matter. If not, expect an angry mob of fans writing in complains to the game developer. The PokeBank failed launch has already angered the community and Nintendo should avoid pouring fuel on fire.
