The Peugeot 308 has long been a competitor in the high-performance hatchback segment. For years now, the 308 has been tussling with the Volkswagen Golf, Honda Civic Type-r and Ford Focus.
Well, the Peugeot 308 might just triumph as the winner soon as it is tipped to the come with a whopping 270PS. The 308 GTi model is revealed to come with such powers and will be seating above the 308GT.
In detail, the 270PS will be generated from a 1.6 liter turbocharged four cylinder engine that was used in the RCZ R Sport coupe. If the performance of the latter is to be translated on the 308 GTi, we could see the hatchback coming with a top speed of 150mph. The car is also able to sprint from 0-62mph in 5.9 seconds.
Peugeot when on to tease that the 308GTi will be making its debut next year in Europe and it will come equipped with many new features and accessories. This includes a more stylish LED lights and also racing seats.
The 308GTi is revealed to retail at £25,000 and it will surely be doing some fierce battle with the Honda Civic Type-R that is also coming for a release next year.
