NVIDIA stop selling their Shield Portable some time ago and it was also missing at CES this year leading fans to believe that NVIDIA might have forgotten about it but the leaked FCC filing reveals that NVIDIA has not forgotten about the portable device at all.
The files were leaked by Reddit user k2Kevin. Based on what we can see on the NVIDIA FCC filing, it looks like the new Shield Portable 2 will come with a similar design but unlike the first model, the new version will be powered by a Tegra X1 processor and will come with a 802.11ac WiFi. The display screen will be a 5inch display with a resolution of 1440 x 810.
Just because NVIDIA filed for the device does not mean that it will be arriving but it is clear that NVIDIA has not abandoned that project yet. Hopefully, we will hear more about it soon.
