We know that Nintendo has always been a fan of cartridges and it looks like they might continue that love when the Nintendo NX console arrives next year.
Nintendo did not announce this but according to Money-Link, Macronix is expecting a bump in 2017. Macronix has been making chips for Nintendo cartridges for some time now and some believe that the bump could mean that they are working on more chip for Nintendo.
It was also reported that the company might be working on a new 32nm chip but is smaller that the ones used in the 3DS cartridges. Some players took this rumors as a confirmation that the Nintendo NX will come with some kind of handheld console.
It is believed that the Nintendo NX console could be a hybrid console but the idea made no sense if the game were to come in a disk but now that cartridges are being considered, things are starting to make more sense now.
