About 12 years ago, Aston Martin created a masterpiece that goes by the name of DB9. The vehicle exploded into popularity when it became the official vehicle for one of the James Bond films back then.
Now, it seems that Aston Martin is finally thinking about giving the DB9 that much needed update, or better yet, a successor. This is confirmed after spy shots at Nurburgring showed a fresh-looking Aston Martin’s test mule racing on the track.
While the car in the spy shots look a lot like the existing DB9, we noticed that it has a wider structure. Perhaps, this is to cater to a new engine under the hood and various reports have confirmed that the mysterious engine is made by Mercedes Benz.
After all, Aston Martin has signed a deal with Mercedes-AMG to supply them with engines. Also, having the test mule being tested at Nurburgring obviously suggests that Aston Martin is testing out the top speed.
Unfortunately, the British-based carmaker has yet to share any performance figures from the test. Regardless, the spy shots are enough to confirm that a new DB9 is in the works.
