Motorola has spoken out about a follow up to the Moto X and said that the handset will make its way out this summer. Up to now they have kept quiet about details of the Moto X 2 other than saying the device will be mid-level priced and gone are the days of the high end devices which come in at $600.
Motorola held a question and answer on Twitter and said that they would remain with the Android OS and that they would continue on with innovations after their split from Google. The session was held during a press conference at the MWC, which took place on Tuesday in Barcelona.
Motorola said that they did not have plans for luxury versions of their phones, such as the Moto X. Through Twitter they said that good phones should be made available for everyone and the days of a phone costing $600 are gone.
They said that they are not losing money on Moto G sales and at this moment they don’t plan on offering the device in China, the same applies to the Moto X. Motorola also said that their new owner Lenovo had offered a great opportunity for them to do so at some point in the future.
