Dragon Age 3: Inquisition – Can Love Conquer All?

There’s no official release date for Dragon Age 3: Inquisition yet, but we’ve heard that it might be this autumn. This will please RPG fans, as it’ll be the first one to come to the new consoles. Dragon Age 3: Inquisition will give fans the chance to see what the Xbox One and PS4 are capable of.

The Dragon Age franchise is known for its inclusive romantic style, with gay, straight and bi relationships all over the place. This time round, it’s not just physical, though.

“I think Mass Effect’s scenes were done really well and I think we will take Inquisition’s scenes in that direction,” said cinematic director Jonathon Perry to GamerZines . “You might have a nude character but they are framed in such a way that parts of them are in shadow, or having characters in various states of undress. We also want to focus not just on the sex itself, but also that this is the culmination of spending a lot of time with a character and getting to know them, and so we’re giving scenes a mature and tasteful treatment.”

GameFront told us that some dialogue ina a demo showed the serious nature of the relationships in Dragon Age 3. Creative director Mike Laidlaw said that the game’s various romances are a very important part of the world and of the story:

“Your interactions aren’t just, ‘Hello, I’m here by my tent waiting for you,’ but instead something that feels like an outgrowth of all your adventures together and the kind of things that you’ve been doing,”

It looks like Dragon Age 3: Inquisition will be a love-fest, but what else is going on? We’ve heard quite a few good things, as it happens.

The Qunari characters are involved, and we get to see past their clumsiness to the dignity that they have. Their interactions with other races will be interesting to see.

The Bioware rep said in an interview with GameFront that the studio wanted to create a game that was much bigger than just one character.

“Dragon Age isn’t about any specific story, it’s about the world,” he said. “It’s large-scale concerns, fate of nations kind of stuff.”

“Within the Keep, you’ll be able to customize a Dragon Age historical world state to your exact specifications. How did you modify your Warden and Hawke? Who were your companions? Who did you choose to romance? Who rose to power, and who fell in defeat?

What legacy did you leave? Within the Keep, you’ll be able to customize as much or as little about the world of Thedas as you wish. Then you’ll be able to import your saved world state into DAI at the start of a new game,” executive producer Mark Darrah wrote in a blog post.

There may also be a feature in the new game that’ll let you import saves from previous games, even if you played them on another console.

Dragon Age 3 is being built on the Frostbite engine, so it’ll be the best-looking episode so far!
