The Apple iPad Air is undoubtedly the best tablet around but this title is now challenged as Microsoft launches the all-new Surface Pro 3.
Unlike the iPad Air, Microsoft claims that the Surface Pro 3 is the ideal device to replace a laptop. This brand new slate from Microsoft is built with a specific goal. It is to improve efficiency and work productivity.
The iPad Air is capable of offering the same. However, it is more of an entertainment-friendly device instead of a productive one.
In terms of built, the Surface 3offers a 12” screen, which is much bigger than the 9.7” on the iPad Air. This is due to one of the Surface 3’s focus, multitasking. Despite having a larger resolution of 2160×1440 on the Surface 3, it loses to the iPad Air as the latter offers 264ppi.
The 3:2 ration on the Surface 3 is something Microsoft can brag about as users can run 3 different apps side by side without any trouble. On top of that, the Surface 3 has PC specs to it.
Consumers can choose from the Intel i3, i5 or i7 processors for their Surface 3. On top of that, the device comes with four different storage spaces, beginning at 64GB and capped at 512GB.
The iPad Air tells a different story with its A7 processor with 1GB RAM which is much slower than the 4/8GB choice on the Surface 3. Other hardwares included on the latter are 5MP camera fitted on the back and front of the device.
The Surface 3 is definitely superior in many ways. In fact, it can even install PC-based softwares. Of course, things are so complex on the Surface 3 that simple tasks are not easily accessible. That is where the average iPad Air triumph.
