It looks like Mazda will have to recall some of the Mazda models in China to get the Takata airbag replace with a safer unit.
A total of 74,310 Mazda 2 will be an affected by the latest recall. Affected models will be those manufactured between the 24th of July 2007 to 17th of June 2015. Other Mazda models that will be affected by the recall will include the 2003-2008 Mazda 6, 2004 -2006 Mazda B-Series, 2006-2007 Mazdaspeed6, 2004-2008 RX-8 and well as the 2008 MPV.
Automakers, including Mazda, have been trying to clean up the whole Takata airbags for some time now it does not look like it is going to be over anytime soon. Mazda owners affected by the latest recall will be contacted by Mazda to get their airbags replaced with a safer model at their dealers.
The fix will, of course, be free of charge.
