Verizon Nexus 5 Hopes Clinging On Nexus 6’s Fate

Earlier this year, consumers were caught in a surprise of a lifetime after Verizon decided to start selling the Google Nexus 5. It is no secret that both Google and Verizon couldn’t see eye to eye on things which leaves us wondering on why the Big Red showed sudden interest in the smartphone.

Such a decision is truly a mystery as the Nexus 5 has already been sold by rival carriers ever since it made its debut back in November last year. The late entry by Verizon makes it all the more difficult for the carrier to bag profits since the Nexus 6 is tipped to arrive in November this year.

The only possible reason that can explain Verizon’s decision is the possibility of a delay with the Nexus 6. Many rumours are suggesting that the Nexus 6 is delayed until autumn next year. Also, there are a handful of rumours that suggests the Nexus 6 won’t be coming at all due to the upcoming Android Silver Program.

In detail, the delay happened because of Google’s dilemma on whether to name LG or other phone makers as the device manufacturer. If this is true, then Verizon has ample time to seal as much profits as possible from the Nexus 5.
