iPhone 4S Headed To Chopping Board Despite 5C Being The Weaker Of Duo (RUMOR)

The Apple iPhone 5C could still be around after the release of the Apple iPhone 6, with perhaps the iPhone 4S being given the chop by Apple, if a new report can be believed. Apple recently launched the iPhone 5C in an 8GB variation; this could have been down to the fact that the demand for the iPhone 5C was lower than anticipated. Experts did say that the iPhone 5C was a flop and some thought that it may be discontinued once the iPhone 6 made its way out.

A release of sales figures over the holidays tells a different story when it comes to the iPhone 5C being a failure or not. It seems that it was unrivalled by much of the competition running Android, which includes the Samsung Galaxy S4 and LG G2. The iPhone 5C has got a strong following, more so with women in Europe, so it does look like the device could be around for some time to come.

MacWorld UK said that the iPhone 4S was the device that was more likely to get discontinued following the release of the iPhone 6. The iPhone 4S will be four iPhones old at this point and could be unavailable for sale later this year. The 30 pin connector and 3.5 inch display does make it old tech.

Recently Apple launched the 5C with 8GB and this was said to have outsold the Blackberry and Windows devices in Q4 of 2013 and every Android flagship, which includes the Samsung Galaxy S4.

Data was compiled from different sources and J. M. Manness said that 12.8 million from the 51 million iPhones that were sold in Q4 of last year was the iPhone 5C. He also said that the iPhone 5C outsold all Blackberry handsets and more than Nokias Windows phones. The iPhone 5C sold more than Samsung Galaxy S4 devices, of which 9 million were sold. The LG G2 accounted for 2.3 million units in the same quarter, so the iPhone 5C actually outsold the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the LG G2 combined together.

So the numbers certainly don’t match up to the iPhone 5C being a flop.
