Owners of the HTC One were happy when the KitKat 4.4.2 update arrived for their handsets as it brought cloud printing along with enhancements to security. While the update was welcome some people asked whether or not the update has made any difference to the issue with the purple tinge.
In Canada the HTC One and HTC One Mini on Wind, Virgin, Rogers, SaskTel and Bell will be getting the update.
Owners of the HTC One in the US will also get the update with Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon. The international version of the HTC One Sense should be getting updated in the US too.
Meanwhile the HTC One X will get the Jelly Bean 4.2.2 update and when it does this will probably be the last that it gets updated to. We did hear from an HTC executive who confirmed this and he said that the update would arrive around the time that the HTC One received the update to KitKat 4.4.2.
When the update does arrive it should bring with it many features but some of them will be dependent on the carrier. Others will be seen with all carriers. For instance all owners should see Sense 5.5, cloud printing, security enhancements, Blinkfeed update, Bluetooth profiles and changes to the UI.
One of the biggest issues that device owners have been complaining about is the red tinge that is seen on photos taken with the camera. When Jelly Bean 4.3 arrived owners thought that it would come with a fix for this. But a user has pointed out that the issue is down to hardware and not software. To be fixed the camera would need replacing at the HTC Centre.
For a quick fix owners can change the contrast along with the saturation in the camera app and this will help with the issue.
