Fans of the Half Life 3 game did a media blackout throughout April the 1st, ie April’s Fool day. The Half Life community knew that they will be targeted by the masses after whining for a decade to see a Half Life 3 game materializes.
On April Fool’s day, those expectations came true. Many gaming websites have been spotted to hit at Valve and the Half Life 3 game. One website known as Gamer Syndrome claims that Half Life 3 will be published by EA and it will have that Call of Duty essence to the game. The website even created a Half Life 3 and Xbox One bundle to convince the community.
Then there is an Australian news website, Sunshine Coast Daily. The paper claimed that EA has purchased the rights to Half Life 3 for $200 million and will take helm for development of Half Life 3. The press even produced false statements from Gabe Newell which claims that Half Life 3 is no longer part of Valve.
Finally is Gamesradar which went furthest by claiming that Half Life 3 is released. A full-pledged review was made on Half Life 3 and this one certainly deserves some face palm.
All in all, it had been a fun April the first but a horrifying one if you are a Half Life enthusiast. The only figure to blame for this is Valve. If the game developer finish up the Half Life series, things wouldn’t have to be like this.
