Those who have played the Half Life series from Valve have had the patience of saints as they have waited to hear about the release of Half Life 3. However some fans have said that their patience is wearing thin.
At the moment Valve still haven’t made anything official about Half Life 3, but fans have been talking about the game and why Valve may have put Half Life 3 on hold.
Some people are wondering if perhaps Valve is stuck when it comes to the storyline of Half Life 3. In Half Life the focus was on escaping city 17. In the sequel the game focused on destroying the combines portal to reveal the borealis. So things could have got limited. Valve will want to keep up the reputation of the series and they will not use ideas that are below par and which could tear the story apart.
Another reason could be the development of Source 2. Bear in mind that development of a new game engine takes a long time and other things will have to be put on hold until it is created and complete.
Valve may be very busy with the Steam Box. This is said to be the future of gaming on consoles and it is to be a milestone from Valve. As the project will have needed a lot of focus and work, everything else could have been put on the back burner.
For the fans sake let’s hope that Valve do mention Half Life 3 and put them out of their misery.
