Following the many leaks on Half Life 3 this year, fans are expecting an announcement on the sequel happening soon. For some of them, they feel that Valve is going to break the ice on Half Life 3 at GDC.
Well, this is unlikely to happen at all. For starters, Half Life 3 is going to be phenomenon when released and GDC is not a big enough event for its announcement. Also, there is also the fact that GDC is more of a tech exhibition, not an ideal setting for a game announcement.
While Valve might have booked a slot at GDC, they will probably spend their time there to discuss more on their VR Headset project. If there is an appropriate place for Half Life 3’s confirmation, it is E3 so don’t look elsewhere.
