Google Nexus 10 2: What We Think We Know

There have been rumours going around about Google launching a new version of their Nexus 10 tablet this year. The first edition of the tablet was launched in 2012 and it came from Samsung.

Google have been keeping very quiet about it but rumours have been floating around and give us some idea as to what to expect.

Many people are speculating that the tablet could arrive towards the middle of this year and possibly at the I/O conference of Google, which is held in May.

We have no idea as to how much the tablet might cost, but PC World suggested that it would be around £349. If so this would make it £30 more than the original when that launched with a price tag of £319.

The original Nexus 10 was made by Samsung but rumours suggest that Google could choose to look elsewhere for the follow up. ASUS has been mentioned as being behind the tablet as Google has enjoyed success with the Nexus 7. HTC has also been mentioned in relation with the Nexus 10 2nd gen.

We have heard that the display of the Nexus 10 2nd gen could have a resolution of 2560 x 1600 and if so it would be better than the retina display of the Apple iPad Air.

The processor should be an improvement and it is thought that it would be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chip. This is the processor that powers the Sony Xperia Z2 along with the Samsung Galaxy S5. There could also be 3GB of RAM.

Other specs and features are said to include an 8MP camera and 2MP, a battery of 9,500mAh, choices of 16GB or 32GB of storage and KitKat 4.4 pre-installed.
