Whenever the price tag of a high end device gets reduced drastically, it could only mean that as successor of it is nearing its release. The Google Nexus 10 2 has been rumoured for so long now and had been a mystery in the gadget industry.
However, hope is reignited after the prices for the old Google Nexus 10 tablet has plunged. The Nexus 7 is also going off on sale as well. Amazon is selling the latter at $223.19 for the 16GB version and $239 for the 32GB version. Another retailer is also having a promotion on the Nexus 7. Staples is selling it at only $199 for the 16GB version and $229 for the 32GB version.
This is quite a huge savings as both versions are previously priced at $229 and $269 respectively.
As for the Nexus 10, the entry level version had a $399 price tag and the 32GB was at $499 when it was first released. Amazon is letting it go for $346.74 for the 16GB version and $382.89 for the 32GB version.
If this price cut is really paving the way for the Google Nexus 10 2, then we will definitely see the device coming this year. Rumours have been pointing out that HTC will be at the helm of the slates’ production. However, this has yet to be confirmed. We will know more on the matter during Google’s I/O Conference in June this year.
