Fallout 4 Announcement Scheduled For This Weekend?

Fans of the Fallout series of games have been waiting to hear about the release date for Fallout 4. This weekend has been when the PAX East conference was held in Boston and so it’s time for some news about the release date for Fallout 4. Bethesda has the perfect showcase when it comes to showing off the next project. PAX East is not just for the industry types, it’s more about celebrating for gaming fans and culture than about business itself. This means that the atmosphere is more about being a very enthusiastic cushion on which to drop the release date for Fallout 4.

Last year there were leaked documents from Kotaku which was from a supposedly casting call for Fallout 4 VO work. In the leaked documents there was material that related to Fallout 4 being set in the city of Boston. This is a rumour that has been speculated about since 2012. Bethesda has not made any comment and so it is thought that the leak was correct and Fallout 4 will be set against the backdrop of Boston. If this is true then perhaps the game should be announced in Boston.

Pete Hines did give an interview recently and he talked about the next project that they were working on. While no details were given out, he did say that it looked awesome. When asked about a release he said “Expect it never and be surprised if it’s any time before then.”

So anyone who thinks that Fallout 4 will be revealed at PAX East may want to think again as PR materials has been seen and it seems that the focus will be around The Evil Within along with Wolfenstein: The New Order.

Bear in mind that The Evil Within, Elder Scrolls Online and Wolfenstein: The New Order, were all games that were supposed to launch in 2013. Their delay could be what has caused the delay of Fallout 4.

It could be that Bethesda are waiting to get these games out and then announced Fallout 4, something that should have happened last year.

Its three years since the developers launched Skyrim and there was a gap of three years between Fallout 3 and Skyrim, however Skyrim was of course announced in 2010. The game was confirmed two years before it was released. It’s now nearly three years and Bethesda haven’t said that they are working on Fallout 4. So gamers may have to wait until 2016 before seeing it.

Of course there have been many hoaxes going around about the game. So why hasn’t Bethesda come out and said something? We expect to hear more about the hype about Fallout 4 later this year.
