Apple Dumps iPhone In Bargain Bin After Galaxy S5 Hype?

Apple has unveiled a cheaper version of their Apple iPhone 5C and they have brought back the iPad with the retina display which has the name of the iPad 4 and at the same time Apple have lowered the price tags of the devices.

Apple discontinued the Apple iPad 4 in October of last year when they launched the iPad Air, this left the Apple iPad 2 being the cheaper entry level tablet.

Now they have brought back the iPad 4 and are offering the tablet with a price tag of £329 or $399 and will stop making the iPad 2.

The iPad 2 came out in March 2011 and the 3rd gen iPad followed one year later, the iPad 4 was then announced in October 2012. The iPad 3 was discontinued with the arrival of the iPad 4.

When the iPad 3 came out the iPad 2 32GB and 64GB versions were stopped, but Apple continued to sell the 16GB version.

The 2nd gen tablet has been discontinued altogether now.

Every version of the Apple iPad, iPad 2 and iPad 3 has been discontinued and the only version of the iPad 4 available is 16GB. You can still buy all versions of the Apple iPad Air.

There is also the Apple iPad Mini with the retina display at 7 inches.

The announcement along with the statement of Apple about the 8GB iPhone 5C means there has been a shift so that Apple can widen their appeal and so attract in more customers.

Thanks to them casting their net wider Apple can appeal to mid-tier to high-tier customers, this is something that Samsung caught onto.

When the new model arrives it will have 8GB of storage and a price tag of £429.

The handset will be available in the UK, France, Germany, Australia and China, but not in the USA.
