It is no secret that Volkswagen is making an estate model out of the Golf R and the vehicle is tipped to be a great family car that does not abandon performance. Soon, the world will be able to witness the VW Golf R Variant when it gets unveiled at the LA Auto Show.
The annual motoring event will be happening in a couple of days from now and it will open the curtains to the Golf R Variant. It is unsure on when the car will be released but rumours are suggesting it to arrive in the US by 2016.
Unfortunately, the rumours are half right. The Golf R Variant is planned to arrive in 2016 but not here in the US. This was confirmed by VW USA’s spokesperson, Mark Grille, when he revealed that the company has no plans to sell the vehicle in the US.
The statement made by Mark not only rubbishes the rumours but also confirms that the estate model from the Golf family is made for the European market. The irony is that VW is unveiling the Golf R Variant on American soil.
