A couple of years’ back, most American carriers offered unlimited data package to their customers. They then realized that all those data could have bagged them a lot of profits and hence, offered new plans that has a data cap.
The funny thing is that all these carriers used the term ‘Fair Usage Policy’ that will throttle down the internet speed and if the user needs more data they will have to purchase them separately. How fair is this?
Now the heat is with Verizon as they took a step further into disabling the old unlimited data plans. The Big Red Carrier announced that customers who are refusing to upgrade to an updated price plan will not enjoy the LTE network. Furthermore, they won’t be enjoying the subsidized smartphone any longer.
This is injustice at its best. The subsidy is specifically in place for price plan customers that are pegged to a network carrier. If Verizon is to proceed with this move, they will surely hurt their own integrity while covering it up as a decision with fairness in mind.
Those that are envious of the unlimited data package will surely support this movement. These is the basic rights of an American and taking it away will only contradict with what the nation is built upon.
