The latest Windows 8.1 revolutionize the way Windows work as it come with a new UI that isn’t anything like its predecessors. However, is it better than the already proven Windows 7?
In terms of boot time, Windows 8.1 only consumed 10-15 seconds, regardless of what device it runs on. This is owed to the hybrid system which utilizes the hibernation tools when shutting down the PC. Certainly, this is a massive upgrade from Windows 7.
Also, Windows 8.1 makes it much easier to synchronize with other devices, particularly smartphone. Everything can be controlled remotely with the aid of an active connection. In Windows 7, everything still relies on cable.
In terms of speed, the latest OS is also much faster than before. The hardwares don’t need a lot of resources to run which makes the performance a lot smoother and responsive than its predecessor.
Then there is the battle on which has the better interface. Microsoft introduced an all-new tiles layout for Windows 8.1, which replaces the hallmark Start menu. It is basically the same layout as the mobile platform but it requires a lot of adjusting from old PC users. At times, things can get confusing and complicated for new learners. As such, the winner of this round belongs to Windows 7.
Then again, this is not enough to change the fact that Windows 8 is the best OS from Microsoft. Of course, if the company were to make it more user friendly with short and simple guides, it will take no time for users to get used to Windows 8.1.
