There is a lot of love for Volkswagen’s saloon, the Passat and it is easy to understand why. The vehicle is not too popular, stylish, elegant and can be said as the perfect car for executives. On the downside of things, VW has yet to create a GTi version of the Passat.
Nevertheless, this didn’t stop independent artist, X-Tomi, from enlightening the world on how wonderful it would be if VW is to produce a Passat GTi. The lad has created his visualization of the Passat GTi and truly, it looks menacing.
When looking at the details, there isn’t much difference between the original Passat and the GTi concept. The latter is built on the same MQB platform and DSG transmission. Of course, X-Tomi inserts a 6-speed manual gearbox as the primary choice of transmission.
The design of the GTi is also something splendidly done. The vehicle looks so much like the original but it has paintwork that combines well with red. The concept looks like the complete deal as it also comes with GTi alloys.
However, we do not think Volkswagen will be building it as their target group for the Passat is more towards to businessmen that wouldn’t like their favourite vehicle to go sporty.
On the bright side of things, the Passat is already a powerful vehicle by itself as it runs on the 2.0 liter twin turbo engine. There will also be a 2.0 TSI variant coming in the near future.
