Jeep has been trying to keep the upcoming Jeep away from the eyes of the public by covering it up with camp tapes and covers but there is one place where they can’t cover up and that is the bottom.
Spies managed to take a few shots of the underside of the upcoming Jeep Wrangler revealing some of the upgrades that we can expect to see when the Jeep Wrangler arrives. Based on the spies shots, it looks like the upcoming Jeep Wrangler will be coming in with a new axle in the back and in the front along with new suspension geometry and exhaust.
We know that Jeep has plans to use aluminum to reduce the overall weight of the Jeep Wrangler in hopes that the fuel economy numbers will improve. The lighter Jeep Wrangler will also help with the performance as well.
There are no details on what engine the Jeep Wrangler will be running on but there were rumors about it being a Pentastar V6 engine that will be mated to a ZF-sourced eight-speed auto transmission. There were also talks about a possible four cylinder diesel engine as well.
