There have been talks on Ford, planning to give the Focus yet another update. After digging deep, we discovered that the American carmaker is actually building the Focus RS that is due in 2016.
This upcoming model isn’t going to be something ordinary. Ford plans to give it the AWD system instead of FWD like most of its predecessors. Also, it will be powered by a 2.3L Ecoboost engine that also brings out 350hp under its belt.
As exciting as that sounds, it is unfortunate that things are still blurry on the status of the Focus RS. Ford tries hard to keep development under the table but when we questioned them, the American carmaker didn’t deny the Focus RS production. On the other hand, Ford didn’t confirm it either.
The Focus RS is heavily linked to get unveiled at the end of next year before coming for a release in early 2016. However, it is still too early to speak as many other factors can change Ford’s plans in any given moment. For example, a simple increment in the cost of petrol might force Ford to scrap the idea.
Nevertheless, the suggested date should be nothing more than a guideline for consumers to look forward to. Stick around to check on any further updates on the upcoming Ford Focus RS.
