The Samsung Galaxy S4 is available on all carriers but the LG Nexus 4 is not. The Samsung Galaxy S3 has a 4.7 inches Super AMOLED display with a small bezel which makes it easy to hold while the LG Nexus 4’s 4.8-inch LCD IPS inches display has more ppi.
The colors on the LG Nexus 4 display are better realistic and the device is more viewable outdoors in direct sunlight. However, some people prefer the deeper blacks and the vibrant colors on the Samsung Galaxy S3 screen. This is more of a personal choice.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 came pre-installed with Ice Cream Sandwich when it was first released with Samsung’s signature TouchWiz UI and other customization while the LG Nexus 4 gives users the pure Android experience and features like PhotoSphere and Gesture Typing. The LG Nexus 4 is packed with a 1.5GHz quad core Snapdragon processor with 2GB RAM while the US Samsung Galaxy S3 has the same processor but only 1GB of RAM. Both of the devices have an 8MP rear camera with LED flash which is capable of capturing videos at 1080p. On the front, the LG Nexus 4 has a 1.3MP camera while The Samsung Galaxy S3 has a 1.9MP camera.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 supports storage expansion via SD card while the Nexus 4 is limited to its internal storage choices of 8GB and 16GB. On contract, both of the devices are available for $199 while off contract, the LG Nexus 4 is priced at $299 and the Samsung Galaxy S3 costs around $400.
