The Hilux is one of the best Toyota pick-ups ever made. It’s among Toyota’s best-sellers, which makes it worthy of spawning successors. These successors may come this year.
The latest Hilux concept shows how the vehicle will get a remodel. You can see at a glance the Highlander-Corolla grille divided into horizontal chrome bars and the fact that it’s larger than the previous models.
This new Hilux will probably run on a 2.5 litre or a 3 litre diesel engine, with the extra option of a 4 litre petrol V6 engine. It’ll compete directly with the VW Amarok, the Mazda BT50, the Ford Ranger and the Nissan Frontier.
We’re expecting production of the 2015 Hilux to start in August and forit to be on sale next year.
