Should BMW ever choose to go ahead and make the M2 it would be an M variant of the 2 series coupe. We saw a rendering recently that looked very much along the lines of a car that BMW would actually make, it even had people believing that it was the real deal.
The concept got its inspiration from the 1M coupe and it does remind people of a much older model, it was shown with a deep orange colour paint job.
We heard rumours that BMW could launch the M2 at some point in 2016 and if this is so, unless there is a change of heart, it should resemble the rendering.
BMW hasn’t announced the M just yet; however they shouldn’t have any issue with it. They would need to make it wider and not as heavy though and it could have the smaller M3/M4 engine.
