The Mini Cooper Rocketman Concept has been around since way back in 2011 and it is touted to be the future of the classy hatchback. There is a lot of anticipation for the Rocketman’s production because of its small size.
However, the reason that Rocketman is still not in production is because of the difficulties in making the vehicle work. Mini revealed that they have to tweak the design and materials just to get the size right.
The BMW-owned British carmaker further added that they are working to find the right solution for the Rocketman Concept and are also considering replacing the carbon fiber for aluminium. Also, Mini aims to keep things as simple and minimalistic as possible for the interior. The company wishes to give drivers a stress-free driving experience in the city, where everything is just too hectic.
With that being said, we could see the Rocketman losing a number of elements. Sacrifices have to be made if the Rocketman is going to get produced.
Then again, we don’t think that the Rocketman will be coming anytime soon. The Concept can still inspire upcoming vehicles from Mini, like the upcoming Cooper Facelift. Perhaps, consumers can look forward to seeing the Rocketman’s design changes in the next Mini Cooper.
