Pokemon X & Y has been out now for six months while we have to wait around another 6 months to see Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire and the Gen 3 monsters, two developers have been talking about how Pokemon X & Y has been received.
The majority of fans of the Pokemon games will by now have worked through the content in the game, so two of the lead developers who worked on it have spoken up about experiences with Pokemon X & Y. What is interesting is that almost certainly both of these men will have had a hand in Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.
The director of Game Freak Junichi Masuda and Pokemon battle director Shigeki Morimoto talked about everything from being competitive in the Pokemon community to giving out basic tips on getting the teams ready for online fights. Both said that people should spend time in the Battle Maison, however at the same time they did say that playing computer opponents would not prepare anyone for playing with a human being.
They also talked about what country has had some of the best trainers, Japan of course, along with which of the creatures should be tweaked for the next games.
The average gamer playing Pokemon X & Y seems to reach the Hall of Fame after just 72 hours of playing. However many gamers have gone on to compete in as many fights online as they have had time for and others have kept searching for Pokemon that they can catch offline.
Masuda did express how much he likes Double Battles, which does happen to be a rare thing in the story mode. He said that people should try some friendly Double Battles with friends.
The pair also spoke about the online ranking systems, trying to draw in new trainers who have been discouraged by thoughts of having to face people who have skill levels that are higher than their own.
