The Volkswagen Golf R has been enjoying all the attention given to it here in the US might it might all end when the Ford Focus RS comes in the near future. While they do not belong to the same segment, these two models both offers performance, comes with an AWD system and will be running on a turbocharged engine. SO which model will people prefer?
If you are planning to decide based on looks, you are only going to make things a little more difficult for yourself since both models come with a more than decent exterior design. The Golf R design is a little muted compared to the fierce looking Ford Focus RS with its hard to miss rear wing but not everybody wants to stand out like a sore thumb all the time.
Under the hood of the Ford Focus RS is a 2.3-liter turbo four cylinder engine that will be pushing out about 350hp while the Volkswagen Golf R will be powered by a 2.0 liter four cylinder engine that will be pushing out about 292hp.
