We’re certain we’ll be able to see more of this in the future if it’s a hit in the market: the remote parking system. And Mercedes-Benz just announced that it would be bringing in this new attribute to their E-class. It all bears an uncanny resemblance to that of the S-class, but we’re pretty sure it’ll stand out on its own with the addition derived from the modular MRA platform. It’s also claimed to undergo a lot of weight loss, especially in terms of its chassis and its engine.
What we know about this system so far is that it’s called the autonomous Park Pilot, allowing drivers to park their car via a remote control with an accompanying smartphone app, “Mercedes connect me”. It’s claimed to be relatively easy; just one button away to a perfect parking process.
It’s important to note that the E-class luxury sedan will feature nifty safety features. It will be inclusive of systems to protect an occupant’s ears and hearing in the event of a crash, and steering assistance to avoid an obstacle or accident. Though it’s still in its test-run stage, we can’t say that every rumoured feature will be available, but we’re hopeful.
