2016 Chevrolet Volt Continues To Ride Greener Pastures

Green Car Journal hasn’t always been picking the obvious choice of car for the entitlement, but this year proves that they’ve got everything figured it out and they’ve chosen wisely. The newly improved 2016 Chevrolet Volt took the honours and they indeed deserved it.

It isn’t a surprise for them to bag the title this year though, as they’ve been named Green Car of the Year when it debuted in 2010/11 too. With an all-new EV range (and also when it’s not acting like an EV), it provides the buyers for what they truly longed for, including an impressive 53-mile driving range on a single charge.

Other nominees during the award included the Audi A3-eTron, the Toyota Prius and Hyundai Sonata. Also, the Chevrolet Volt sells in tiny numbers compared to other green cars like the Toyota Prius. So, with the new entitlement now, there isn’t any reason not to have them sold in the US markets. It’s greener and cleaner, after all.
