We think that it is definitely faster, but is that it? The people behind the Hot Rod magazine got down to giving the car a drive, and the result is that they were very impressed.
The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS is lighter and so much more powerful than their previous models, and the fact that it gets down the quarter mile so perfectly well simply makes it all the more attractive. We also know that the Camaro SS is capable of running a 12.21 in the quarter mile with one transmission and a 12.40 with the other (in the 8-speed automatic transmission and 6-speed automatic transmission respectively).
Even if 12.40 proves to be the automatic transmission time for the Camaro SS, it is still more than a half second quicker than the LS3-powered Camaro SS from the previous models. Hopefully we’ll get more details along the way, so remember to stay tuned.
