The latest Android 4.4 KitKat has been by far the best OS produced by Google. With the success that the KitKat enjoyed, things definitely got more exciting for the future Android 4.5 Lollypop.
This next Android OS will be unveiled during Google I/O Conference happening at the end of this month and there is already so much buzz about it.
For starters, the Android 4.5’s name is still unconfirmed. The only thing fans can be certain of is it will start with the letter ‘L’. Most consumers assumed it to be Lollypop but there are other mentions like Layer Cake and Lamington.
The Lollypop is expected to be more wearables friendly. With the Google Glass and a whole line-up of smartwatches coming, Google will ensure that the Lollypop will be able to support them all.
Then there is the personnel assistant on the Android OS. It has been a long while since the Google Now got upgraded. Both Apple and Microsoft are already ahead with their respective assistants. Google won’t back out from this segment and will join in the trend to make Google Now, more personal.
If there is one thing the US company would like to avoid, it is the bug that drains the battery life. Energy efficiency is numero uno in the priority order and the Lollypop will be built with that in mind.
All in all, there is a lot of potential coming with the Android 4.5 Lollypop. The above expectations are merely a few of many that will come with the OS. Come 25 June, we will know for sure what the Lollypop has got to offer.
