The Ford F-150 is clearly the crowd favorite right now but is it really the best around. Does the Chevrolet Silverado even stand a chance?
The Ford F-150 base model will be powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine. There is also a 2.7-liter turbo V6 option, a 3.5 twin turbo V6 and a 5.0 liter V8 engine option. Besides the 3.5 liter engine which will be mated to a 10-speed auto transmission, the other will only be paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
The Ford F-150 will return about 14mpg in the city and 19mpg on the highway and will need 6.3 seconds to go from 0-60mph with a top speed of 106mph.
The Chevrolet Silverado, on the other hand, will come in with a 4.3-liter V6 engine. There is also a 5.3liter engine and a 6.2-liter engine. The base model will be mated to a six-speed auto transmission while the other engine will get the eight-speed auto transmission.
The Silverado will return about 15mpg in the city and 21mpg on the highway. It will need 7.2 seconds to go from 0-60mph and has a top speed of 99mph.
