A lot of people were a little skeptical when Tesla announce that they were going to start delivering their Tesla Model 3 this year. Based on the past, we can see why.
Tesla was late in delivering both the Tesla Model S and Tesla Model X but it looks like they have learned from their mistake and will not be repeating it this time. According to Tesla, they have already started their battery production and that the Model 3 production should be ready to start in July this year.
The July production is just a trail run. The full-scale production will be happening in September this year. If everything goes according to plan, some of the earliest Tesla Model 3 buyers might be getting it before we enter 2018.
The Tesla Model 3 is Tesla first attempt at offering their EV models to the general public since the last few models were just too expensive for most of the consumers. It would be interesting to see how the Model 3 fare against models like the Chevrolet Bolt.
