The major issue is with the missing spot welds in the car’s structure which is hazardous in an event of a crash. 211 Leaf EVs from the US and 65 units from the Canada are reported to be affected by it. Of course, the issue only involves the Leaf built between February 28 and March 12 this year.
Nissan spokesperson revealed that if the Leaf which is missing the spot welds will be confiscated and owners will get a replacement at no charge.
The mass recall is expected to kick off in June and owners can get more information by calling Nissan at 1800-647-7261.
