Are you tired of getting unwanted attention on Facebook from people you barely know? Do you feel that your privacy online has been jeopardized? If you are having both troubles and don’t know what to do, don’t worry, we’ll get you through this *wink*
Firstly, click the lock symbol at the top right of your Facebook page and you’ll see ‘Privacy Shortcuts’ drop down menu. Go to ‘See More Settings’ at the bottom of the menu. It will bring you to the ‘Privacy Settings and Tools’ page. Under ‘Who can see your future posts?’ in the ‘Who can see my stuff’ section, click on the ‘Custom’ button and select ‘Only Me’. Click on ‘Limit The Audience for Old Posts’ and click ‘Limit Old Posts’.
In the ‘Who can contact me’ section under ‘Who can send you friend requests?’, change ‘Everyone’ to ‘Friends of friends’. For ‘Whose messages do I want filtered into my inbox’, change ‘Basic’ to ‘Strict’ filtering.
In the ‘Who can look me up’ section, change ‘Everyone’ to ‘Friends’. Unclick the ‘Let other search engines link to your timeline’ option in the third one.
You will see ‘Timeline and Tagging’ settings button on the left column. Click that and anything that can be changed to ‘Only Me’ should be changed to that. Then, in the same left column will be the ‘Followers’ settings. Go there and change ‘Who Can Follow Me’ from ‘Friends’ to ‘Only Me’.
Under ‘Followers’ is the ‘Apps’ settings. In the same page, under ‘Old Versions of Facebook for Mobile’, change it to ‘Only Me’. Happy trying!
