When Toyota announce that they were going to release a new Toyota Supra, some people were hoping that this would mean that we will be able to witness the Toyota Supra and Mazda RX-9 going at each other in the near future.
It did feel like it was going to happen since Mazda has also announced that they already have a team of engineers working on the rotary engine right now but our hopes were dashed, when Mazda announce, confirms that the RX-9 will not be happening.
Mazda announces that they had no plans to build a new sports car that is bigger than the Mazda MX-5. That means there will be no RX-9 in the near future since it is bigger than the MX-5.
Toyota should be glad that Mazda will not be there to compete with them but it is a huge disappointment for the fans that have been waiting for the RX-9 to arrive.
