The game developer went public recently to reveal that the punishment for those caught cheating will be much more severe than ever. Instead of the cheaters being banned for a period in the ‘cheater lobby’, they will also have their RP being reset.
Rockstar further added that this will affect those who have participated in mods, hacks, DNS redirects, manipulation of cloud files or other nefarious behaviour.
It is no secret that GTA Online players have been exploiting glitches to make a living in the game. After all, grinding takes them nowhere. This will definitely be a scare to them but they won’t be affected by it. Rockstar assured that RP gained without modding won’t be affected.
On the other hand, Rockstar will also be looking to give GTA Online many fixes so that the glitches are out of the picture for good.
Of course, the many players won’t be too happy with this as it would mean grinding for money all over again. The only remedy is if Rockstar releases the heist DLC, which is believed to be the best source of income in time to come.
