The recent E3 gaming event was thought to be the place for Half Life 3 to get announced but it has failed to happen. This is similar to GDC where many Half Life fans believed that Valve is finally going to confirm on Half Life 3.
Of course, back then, it was pretty obvious that Half Life 3 is not going to get announced. This is because GDC is a tech event hence it is not fitting for a game to get announced there. So instead of talking about Half Life 3, Valve discussed about their tech developments like the Steam Machines and also the VR headset.
As for E3, Valve didn’t even utter a word on Half Life 3. E3 is the biggest annual gaming event and seeing Half Life 3 not getting announced there suggest that the game is truly not in production. This is unfortunate for the fans as it means more wait for them to go through.
